The Division 2 New DLC before The Division 3 is set to come out.

When Ubisoft first announced The Division, I was incredibly excited. A modern shooter MMO was something I’d always wanted, and the original game really scratched that itch for me. Despite the fact that many of my friends didn’t seem to enjoy it as much, I still had a great time exploring the world, grinding for gear, and getting lost in the post-pandemic setting. I appreciated its tone and atmosphere, and even though it had some flaws, it was a game that stuck with me. That said, when The Division 2 came out, I only ended up playing around 5 to 10 hours. I could tell it was a great game, probably even better than the first, but again—without a consistent squad, it just didn’t hook me the same way.

Today, I found out there's a new DLC coming to The Division 2, priced at $15. It’s a small drop, and they’re expected to reveal more details soon, but it already has me thinking about jumping back in. It also makes sense that this content is on the lighter side, because The Division 3 has now been officially confirmed to be in development. That alone is pretty exciting. I might just have to dust off my gear and get back into the fight when the new entry drops. With Division 3 on the horizon, I’m hoping for a real evolution in the series—not just more of the same with a fresh coat of paint.

What’s different now is that I’ve started to establish myself as a gaming YouTuber and streamer. While I’m still at the early stages of finding success, it’s been incredibly rewarding and has changed the way I approach games. I’m way more comfortable playing alone or with just one other person now, because I feel like I’m accomplishing something—both personally and professionally. Back in the day, I used to feel like I was missing out when my friends weren’t into the same games I loved. Now, I see it more as an opportunity to create content and connect with an audience that is into those games. Who knows, maybe I’ll even form a new squad for The Division 3, or dip into the new DLC while I wait.

One major hope I have for the next game is a more dynamic and fluid movement system. I’ve never been a fan of the snap-to-cover mechanic, and I’d love to see a shift toward something more physics-based—where you can move freely, crouch, jump, sprint, and take cover naturally without being locked into a system. Another big question mark is the future of Ubisoft, especially with Tencent becoming more involved. Will that be a good thing or a bad thing for The Division as a franchise? Hard to say, but I’m open to change if it leads to innovation and improvement. At the end of the day, I’m hopeful. The series has always had massive potential, and with the right changes, The Division 3 could finally deliver the ultimate modern shooter MMO I’ve been waiting for.
