RuneScape: Dragonwilds ULTIMATE Beginner Guide (Start Strong!)

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a cooperative (1–4 players) open-world survival game developed by Jagex, set on the forgotten continent of Ashenfall. Players must gather resources, build shelters, craft weapons, and uncover ancient secrets to survive and ultimately slay the Dragon Queen. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam, with plans to expand content through community feedback.

🔧 1. Prioritize Essential Tools and Shelter

  • Gather Basic Resources: Start by collecting wood, stone, and flax. These materials are crucial for crafting tools and building your initial shelter.

  • Craft a Spinning Wheel: Use flax to produce coarse thread, which is essential for creating various items, including the battlestaff.

  • Construct a Shelter: Build a simple structure near resource-rich areas to protect yourself from environmental hazards and enemies.

🔥 2. Utilize Magic and Runes Effectively

  • Craft a Battlestaff Early: Combining a staff with elemental runes (e.g., air, fire) allows you to perform ranged attacks and area-of-effect spells.

  • Set Up a Rune Altar: Establish a rune altar at your base to craft and stockpile various runes, enabling a diverse range of magical attacks.

  • Experiment with Rune Combinations: Different rune types offer unique effects; for example, air runes can create explosive projectiles, while fire runes enable a cone of flame attack.

🏠 3. Establish Multiple Bases with Lodestones

  • Build Lodestones: Use vault cores to construct lodestones, which serve as fast-travel points across Ashenfall.

  • Strategically Place Bases: Establish bases in various regions to minimize travel time and facilitate resource gathering.

  • Plan for Respawns: Setting up multiple lodestones allows for quicker retrieval of dropped items upon death.

⚠️ 4. Be Cautious Around Water

  • Avoid Deep Water: Traversing through water slows movement and disables dodging, making you vulnerable to attacks.

  • Plan Routes Carefully: When exploring or engaging enemies, choose paths that minimize water crossings to maintain mobility.
